Our 2027 priorities

Bring these to your delegation meeting or share them with your legislators.

Local Land-Use Authority & Disaster Planning
  • End haphazard changes to Ch. 163, Florida's Growth Management Act, by convening a representative group of stakeholders to review and recommend changes.
  • Repeal SB 180's overly broad prohibitions on changes to local land-use plans after a hurricane, which undermine local authority, weaken Florida's resilience to natural disasters, and threaten the health, safety, and quality of life of Floridians.
  • Promote policies to steer development away from agricultural and natural land toward areas with the infrastructure to support it, and restore state and regional coordination for comprehensive planning.
Environmental Protection
  • Implement a holistic water policy that includes more stringent pollution prevention and conservation combined with robust, consistent funding.
  • Authorize partial restoration of the Ocklawaha River by approving an environmentally and economically beneficial plan to remove Rodman Dam.
  • Oppose proposals that would weaken protections for parks and other conservation lands.
Conservation Funding
  • Fund Florida Forever at pre-2008 levels and maintain robust funding for land conservation programs to increase public access opportunities and protect the Florida Wildlife Corridor and other high-priority conservation lands.
  • Provide robust funding to restore and protect the Everglades, Biscayne Bay, Indian River Lagoon, springs and other threatened waterways.
Housing & Infrastructure
  • Direct housing trust fund revenue exclusively toward affordable housing, and support incentives that preserve local authority to tailor policies for unique conditions.
  • Fully fund the FY 2027-2028 Historic Preservation Grant list and maintain support for Florida Main Street program.
  • Support programs that provide flexible, cost-effective transportation alternatives to Floridians.
