
Rethinking Roads: A Complete Streets Approach to Safer Communities

What does it look like when roads are designed for people, not just cars? This webinar from 1000 Friends of Florida explored how communities across Florida and the nation are putting Complete Streets principles into action to prioritize safety, equity, and multimodal access for all users. Featuring Beth Osborne, President & CEO of Smart Growth America; Valerie Neilson, Executive Director of the Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organization; and Deputy Mayor Fran Nachlas of the City of Boca Raton, the session highlighted national policy trends, regional implementation of Palm Beach County’s Complete Streets network and the U.S. 1 Multimodal Corridor Study, and local leadership advancing safer, people-focused design and micromobility initiatives.
